This season, extend the act of giving to our four-legged furry friends through programs like Rachael Ray’s ASPCA 100K Challenge and Iams’ Home 4 The Holidays.    For the past 13 years, Iams’ Home 4 The Holidays program has been placing pets in loving homes and feeding homeless animals. How could you ever say no to that face?!
Animal shelters across the country are participating in Rachael Ray’s ASPCA $100K Challenge. This cute guy came from the Young Williams Animal Center in Knoxville, TN!
The Challenge is an AMAZING program that is all about getting homeless cats and dogs out of shelters and into loving homes by inviting these shelters to save more lives than ever before. In 2010, the contestants increased lives saved by more than 7,000 in the three-month time frame, and last year’s contestants increased lives saved by almost 9,000!
This year’s Challenge started a little over a month ago and has already saved almost 5,000 lives! That’s a lot of adorable faces.
Rach is a known advocate for animals and a big supporter of animal welfare groups. Did you know that 100 percent of the proceeds from Rach’s pet food, Nutrish, (inspired by her pit bull, Isaboo!) provide funding and support to organizations like the ASPCA? She also loves to home cook meals just for pets! Like Isaboo’s Butternut Squash Mac and Cheddar. See what she has to say about the Challenge.
Follow the Challenge on Twitter with the hashtags #100KChallenge and #100KSaved.
