Dans le Noir (translation: “In the Dark”) is the ultimate test of your taste buds. We’re not talking dining in darkness—it’s dining in pitch black. Everything gets distorted, sound is amplified, conversation is harder and the food becomes mysterious.
Each diner gets to choose from one of four mystery menus: Fish, Poultry, Red Meat or Chef’s Surprise. If you can guess what’s on your plate—it’s harder than you’d think!—you can consider yourself a super-taster in my book. Visually impaired guides lead you into the darkness and wait on you with helpful tips on how to eat (hint: skip the utensils and use your hands!) without sight.  It’s not a place to care about being clean—we walked out with crumbs, some spills and a few stains, but what an experience!—Allyson Dickman, Lifestyle Editorial Assistant
