Here’s a snapshot of my first time making a steak at home! I went to the market looking to buy a sirloin steak, as it seemed familiar, but ended up leaving with a cut of flatiron steak per the butcher’s suggestion. Though it wasn’t as tender as I’d anticipated, it was very flavorful! I topped it with herb butter and made parmesan fries as a yummy side!

Restaurants in New York pop up and disappear at a rapid rate, so when a place has been around for 125 years, you can bet that they’re doing something right! Peter Luger Steakhouse in Brooklyn, New York is a New York institution and has been voted Zagat’s best steakhouse in New York City for 28 years in a row. This place is so popular we even saw New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, come in while we waited to be seated! Check out what they’re known for after the jump!
